Surprisingly robust
Very much surprised by how much weight this helping hands type product is able to support considering how small of a surface area the base has when compared to the length of each helping hand. For reference the PCB in this photo weighs approximately one pound. The clamps provided are also a nice touch and they have silicone tips on them to prevent any marring of the PCB and likely to provide additional grip. Assembly of product was simply and took less than a minute Overall prtty pleased with this product though the base could be bigger and/or heavier to provide more stability.

A Helping Hand for Soldering
If you ever used a gorilapod tripod for a camera this is similar. It holds position well once you twist the parts in place. I used it for repair of an amplifier and it was very helpful to hold parts as I soldered. The base uses suction cups that are not very useful to me. I prefer to work on cardboard to protect my desk. It would be nice if the base was heavier for more stability. However I found it worked quite well without the suction cups engaged. Because it comes as a pair with their own bases, it is easy to adjust and get into position. It comes with extra alligator clips incase you fry one. It is much larger than the ones I have used in the past. Very glad to have the extra hand when I'm making repairs.

Great set of extra hands!
These were very easy to assemble. The suction cups grip very well even without any moisture. I just pushed them down on my wooden coffee table and was able to move the clips all around without the base coming free. I put a little bit of water on each cup and stuck it to some plexiglass and it stuck overnight. They also stick on a piece of light gage steel sheet that I use to solder over. I haven't tested it on a silicon mat because I don't own one, but I suspect it will work well there too. It would also be possible to remove the suction cups and screw the bases down to your work bench if you're looking for something more permanent. The arms stay where you put them, and the alligator clips have a good grip. The package includes a pair of knucklebuster wrenches for assembly and an extra pair of alligator clips. Overall, this is an excellent set of extra hands.
